Climate Action Day
I was delighted in my role as Leas-Cathaoirleach to meet primary school pupils from the area on World Climate Action Day who presented me with letters outlining their concerns for the future of the planet. I fully support our county’s climate action plan and believe that we can all play our part.

In 2018 I went public about my own experience and the systemic failure in this area. Not much has changed in 10 years and I have called for legislation to address this issue. I have spoken on RTÉ and Newstalk about this on a number of occasions sharing my own experience and outlining my concern over the lack of funding in this area.

Late last year I spoke at the biodiversity event in Marlay Park which was attended by local authority officials and experts from around the country. One of the highlights was the arrival of the Droimeann cattle to nearby Fernhill Park and Gardens. Droimeann Cattle were officially approved a native rare Irish breed status by the United Nations.
